With the turbo swimming lessons in Amsterdam With our Turbo (emergency) swimming lessons, your child can obtain the A, B or C diploma within just 2 weeks, with diploma guarantee. You practise in small groups in De Mirandabad (Amsterdam-Zuid) with a regular, qualified instructor and a clear route to the exam.

What is a turbo swimming lesson?

An intensive and short course of about 2 weeks, with training sessions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, in preparation for diploma swimming.

Aim: refining swimming techniques, building fitness and practising in clothing according to NRZ requirements, so your child goes into the exam feeling confident.

• Duration: 2 weeks with diploma guarantee
• Teaching moments: several fixed times per week

  • Friday 17.00 to 18.30
  • Saturday 14.00 to 15.30
• Lesson duration: approx. 90 minutes per lesson
• Group size: small (lots of personal attention)
• Exam: Dressed swimming every lesson, according to the requirements of the National Swimming Safety Board

For whom is turbo suitable (short checklist)?

• Age: from 5 years
• Without flotation devices: be able to swim in the deep pool
• Base present: A-level technique

This is how the turbo programme works

We start with a swimming test to determine if your child is eligible for the A-turbo swimming. Children for B-turbo swimming or C-turbo swimming may start immediately, without a swimming test. We then go through all the parts required for the exam in 7 intensive 90-minute lessons:

• Engineering blocks: breaststroke, backstroke, breaststroke/backstroke; mistakes are corrected immediately.
• Apparel swimming: From the first day practice with clothes and shoes, for C-turbo swimming also with jacket.
• Distances & endurance: Maintain tempo and breathing rhythm with interval sets; build up to exam requirement.
• Survival & self-reliance: jumps, floating, water kicks with hands above water, underwater orientation.
• Dress rehearsal: full exam set under time, just like on the real day.

What can you expect after 2 weeks?

Your child swims the required distances at a leisurely pace, with steady breathing. Clothes swimming feels familiar: jumping, floating and water kicks go in the right order. The most important strokes (breaststroke, backstroke, crawl) are technically stable enough for the exam. We conclude with a trial exam, so your child knows what happens on the real day. Is one part not yet strong enough? Then we agree on a short adjustment step (e.g. 1-2 private lessons or entry in the next round). That way it remains achievable and safe.
